If you'd like to prepare your company's Explosion Safety File (EVD) and could use some assistance, this training course is perfect for you. It's a one-on-one training session that we conduct at your company. This allows us to thoroughly address the specific requirements that must be addressed in the EVD.

The training begins with a four-hour intake interview where we'll gain an understanding of your current situation and the current arrangements for the EVD. We'll then schedule four meetings.
With certificate
The training is completed with the certificate: 'ATEX Compliance Officer' and provides you with the knowledge and skills to draw up and maintain the EVD and to set specific requirements for, for example, changes and modifications to the installation(s).
Program
The four meetings (usually) look like this:
1. At the first meeting, we'll visit the site to assess the situation. Please have your PPE, ATEX telephone, and work permit ready so we can assess ATEX compliance in practice. Feel free to invite other colleagues, as this can be very insightful. After this tour, we'll prepare a PowerPoint presentation outlining the requirements of ATEX 153 and ATEX 114 that must be met in your specific situation. This presentation will be discussed at the second meeting.
2. During the second meeting, we will review the PowerPoint presentation and discuss the requirements of ATEX 153/114, including the zoning (GAS/DUST) and how to determine it. We will also address whether any zoning is correct, as it is often impossible to determine their origin. We will also discuss the requirements that equipment and components in zoned areas must meet. This allows us to determine whether pumps, MOVs, and motors, for example, are suitable for that zone. This presentation will also cover ignition sources and how to identify them, as well as ventilation if the zone is located within a building, how to calculate the minimum capacity, and how the ventilation system should be designed. After this meeting, we will prepare an EVD tailored to your specific situation.
3. At the third meeting, we will discuss the EVD (which we have compiled) and assess its status. If necessary, we will return to the field and make additions and improvements to the draft EVD.
4. At the fourth meeting, we will review the existing (technical) documentation for components in zoned areas. How is this currently organized (or not), and we will also assess its content. We will then complete the EVD.
In fact, the program is a combination of one-on-one training and advice, but also a hands-on approach. By the end, we want you to have made significant progress in ATEX compliance, so that you can continue independently after completing the training.
The meetings take place at your company, so other colleagues are welcome to attend as well. We often see people from engineering, HSE, QA, QC, technical services, etc., join one or more meetings.
